I would like to purchase the new cricut expression machine to make those cool vinyl wall words. Uppercase living is just too expensive and if i make my own, I can swap them out more often. Just curious to see if anyone has used this machine and is it worth the cost. Also thought of making wall words to put on glass blocks, windows, etc. |

Hi there... i don't have a cricut but have seen it used for that purpose... if you don't want to invest in the machine, you could always buy the vinyl or mylar or acetate and use a stencil to make your own words...Michaels sells inexpensive wood letters that you could also decorate and use...
I have heard good and bad reviews about the machine..i think it is up to the user and what they want it for and how much they would use it...

sdpipes that is a great idea but how do you attache them to the wall. I do have a Cricut and I may have to get busy because I have wanted one of those boards with a saying on it for above my stove. You just gave me a great idea. I can go find some old wood out of one of the old barns around here. The do the letters and glue them on and like you said I can change them any time I want. Instead of glue I think I will use velcore . Geez thanks. Glenda G |

I have the cricut expression the tape you cut them out with is colored and then they have a clear tape that adheres to the wrong side and you stick that too the wrong side of the word and then stick it to your wall. this tape is a must for adding words to walls or else it will not work out real well. That tape is called "transfer tape" |

No, I haven't yet used my Cricut Exp. for making vinyl wall words. I have the goods but can't decide what I want to do. My daughter used to sell for UpperCase Living, so if the vinyl I have works the same way, it's not too complicated. |

I looked at the Cricut Exp and decided against it. For one thing, what comes on their cartridges are too childish for my taste. I just purchased an eClips from Sizzix and I love it. Besides you can pay for most of the Sizzix machines, in 3 payments. In fact I not only ordered the eClips, I also ordered some of their dies and embossing folders (for the Big Shot I already have) and they divided the entire order into 3 payments. The eClips has a hand held remote and not overlays. Remote also comes with a tabletop cradle. I got a free cartridge that makes all sorts of bag, boxes and albums. Plus the eClips comes with one cartridge, so I got two cartridges. Sizzix cartridges are cheaper than Cricut cartridges also. |

the person who told you about the circut words transfer tape, is how to apply the words, but there are so many cartridges out there. and Michaels always runs sales on the cartridges and so does JOann's you just have to visit them or visit there sales weekly to catch them on sale.. I started off with the small cricut machine, but I now have the expression. I love it.. I do not use it as much as I would like to because of time. But I do reccommend the machine! Good luck with your machine as well..... !! |

I don't know where you live, but I have gotten some of my Cricut cartridge packages at Menards for $20. They often have them on an end cap near the tile and wallpaper displays. I never would have bought myself a Cricut but my girls thought I should have one. I do have lots of cartridges now. Am looking forward to using some fun things with the grandkids when they're a little older. I have a village building set, U.S. states/birds/flowers, and paper dolls. I love paper dolls but my daughter never got into them. Hoping my two granddaughters will think they're fun.
I use my Big Shot a lot and am so glad to have it. Use it way more than the Cricut.

I have one, and I use it all the time. I have used it to make decorations for my 40th class reunion, cards, scrapbooks, and even the vinyl lettering for walls. etc. I have used it just as you see on the info-mercial. cut out designs for pillows. Love the fonts on the cartridges... great for lettering, I now cut my own, instead of buying letters in packages, as there is never enough of a letter you need. Love mine, and I don't know what I did without it......anna |
