Note: See end of article for product information.
• See photo for details and placement.
STEP 1: Cut paper. Determine papers to be used on each disc. Note: Some textured papers shown are painted with acrylic craft paint in shades of gray. Paint papers as you like. Place discs on reverse sides of papers and trace around discs with a pencil. Cut out each circle. To cover sides, cut coordinating 1″ strips from each paper.
STEP 2: Attach paper strips. Spread a thin, even layer of glue around side of one disc. Press paper strip in place. Optional: Use craft pins to hold ends in place until dry. Attach paper strips to all discs in same way.
STEP 3: Attach paper circles. Spread a thin, even layer of glue on top of one disc. Press paper circle in place. Smooth paper with fingers. Optional: Place book on top of circle until glue is dry. Attach paper circles to all discs in same way.
STEP 4: Assemble discs. Arrange discs on work surface as you like. Attach pieces to each other using a glue gun, low-temperature glue, and toothpicks. Note: To insert a toothpick between two discs, apply glue to one end of toothpick and insert in first foam disc. Apply glue to other end of toothpick and insert in second disc.
STEP 5: Add support. To support larger discs underneath, insert a scrap piece of craft foam between discs.
STEP 6: Attach hanger. Cut a 30″ length of picture wire. Knot ends of wire. Press knots into top back of craft foam discs on each side of piece. Secure with a generous amount of low-temperature glue. To reinforce, glue a small square of paper over each wire end. Let glue dry completely before hanging.
